The Wales Veterans' Football Association are proud to announce that the inaugural Veteran’s Women’s League fixtures will get underway today at Pencoed College with over 40 women from 35 to 55 taking part.
Veterans’ teams from Llanelli (Evan & Williams FC), Rhondda (Cambrian United Women), Bridgend (Penybont FC) and Cardiff Academicals Women, will be playing the first matches in the Women’s o35 WorkwearSupermarket.com League, which will start life as a 7-a-side Competition.
The Wales Veterans FA, are thrilled to introduce the Veteran’s Women’s League and main organisers, Katie Davies, Jo Davies, Stacey Netterfield and Carly Rees "can’t wait to get started.” WVFA Committee Chairman, Alun Huish explained “the benefits to physical and mental well-being are widely recorded, and we are convinced the game will grow in popularity over the coming months...and this will allow the League to expand and develop”.
