Wales Veterans' FA Presentation Evening success 20th June @ the Cardiff Masonic Hall with Special Guest Alan Curtis

The Wales Veterans' FA celebrated another successful season, both on and off the field, at its Annual Presentation Evening at the Cardiff Masonic Hall, in the company of Wales legend, Alan Curtis.

The first award of the evening recognised the invaluable contribution of our officials by awarding a Referee of the year award, 2024/25 to Richard Lewis.

Representative Football
The o50s finished as R/up in the Home nations tournament as did the o60s in March. The o45s had matches against a number of north Wales clubs and the o40s stretched their unbeaten run to almost 2 years. Last September the o55s lifted the 4 Nations crown...and possibly the highlight of last season saw us host the o70s & o75s World Cup tournament in Cardiff...The o75s lost agonisingly to England on penalties in the World Cup Final BUT, in possibly the highlight of last season, the o70s lifted the WC trophy after defeating Denmark, Australia, Canada and England before beating the USA in the final.

Finally, two special caps were awarded to WVFA Committee members, Dave Murray and Paul Averies, for their tireless work with the Representative Squads since 2010 and, as a result, have played well over 100 matches each for the Wales Veterans' Football Association.

Women’s Veterans Football Kicks-off! Over 30 women took part in the first Wales Veterans’ Football ‘Running’ tournament for women on Saturday 14th at Cambrian United FC in Clydach Vale.
