The Wales Veterans' Football Association have accepted an invitation from the World World Cup Festa committee to send an o70 and an o75 squad to the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo to face teams from Japan, USA, Australia, Taiwan, Germany and England for the o70s & o75s World Cup 2025.
The 2024 tournament was hosted by the WVFA in Cardiff and the o75s want to go one-step further after losing agonisingly to England on penalties in the World Cup Final. The o70s will be trying to retain the o70s WC trophy after defeating Denmark, Australia, Canada and England before beating the USA in last year’s final.
This year’s Tournament will take place at the Komazawa Olympic Park in Tokyo and will include competitions in the over 70s, over 75...and for the first time, over 80s age-groups!
Both squads have been working hard on their preparations and are confident of putting in some strong performances and pushing the other teams all the way. We wish them the best of luck!
