Sad passing of Cardiff City legend, Don Murray

Don was a tough tackling, Scottish professional footballer who spent the majority of his career playing for Cardiff City Football Club. He made over 500 appearances between 1962 and 1975, helping them to nine Welsh Cups resulting in many famous European Cup Winners’ Cup fixtures, including that historic night at Ninian Park against Real Madrid in 1971. He was a Scotland under-23 international and also played for Swansea City, Heart of Midlothian, Newport County and Barry Town.

The Wales veterans’ football Association offers its deepest condolences to Don’s family, friends and former team-mates, at this very sad time....he will be greatly missed.
