13th March
In Division 1, Barry Town entertained Cardiff Dracs at Jenner Park and suffered a 2-4 defeat. Ashton, Gardner, Patten and Llewellyn were on target for the visitors, Lee Jones and Ferguson got two late consolations for the hosts, who sit in the League runners-up spot.
8th March
Congratulations to Llantwit Fardre who lifted the Division 1 o40s Workwear Supermarket.com League title after defeating Porth Quins 3-2....Lee writes...in a Scrappy and close game that could have gone either way Llewellyn (2) and Teconi scored for the hosts and Porth’s goals came from Ivey and a Williams OG.
In Division 2, Penygraig defeated leaders, Coopers 3-2 in the big game of the day in Tonypandy! Gent, Martin Jones and Carr scored for the hosts. Allen and Crock scored for Coopers, who will lift the League title, if they win their last game!
Pentyrch drew 2-2 with Ely Sports. Evans and Henders scored for Pentyrch and O’Dare and Cotterill replied for Ely.
Thornhill welcomed Cogan to Llanishen High School and lost out 3-4 in a high-scoring game. Christoforato (2), Wise and Harries were on target for Cogan. Cole (2) and Rich Jones replied for the hosts.
Cooper FC o40s, 2025
1st March
In Division 1, Porth Quins inflicted a huge 1-8 defeat on Cardiff Dracs and in doing so, leapfrogged them in the League table...Col writes...We just weren't at the racestoday. Porth played very well and we're absolutely ruthless in front of goal. Mead scored within 2 minutes and set the tempo for further goals by Hares (3), Mason (2), Haggett and Tyler. Gardner scored a consolation for the hosts.
Barry Town overwhelmed Ynyscynon 10-2 at Bro Morgannwg with goals by Lee Jones (3), Lindsay (2), Chick (2), Light (2) and Griffiths. Davies and Evans scored for the visitors.
Llanwit Fardre maintain their comfortable lead at the top when opponents, Cascade conceded the game.
In Division 2, Cogan Coronation defeated Pentyrch 4-6 at St Cyres and move up to third in the table. Cayford scored 4 for Cogan, along with Adey Blake and Nick Blake. Bright (2), Meunier and Perryman replied for the hosts.
22nd February
In Division 1, bottom side, Aber Valley recorded a fine 2-4 away win against Cascade with goals by Gareth Jones, Moore, Dale Davies and Wood. The hosts replied through Gould and Edwards.
In Division 2, the North Cardiff Derby between Pentyrch and Thornhill finished all-square at 2-2. Gardner and Meunier scored for Pentyrch and Cole replied with a brace for Thornhill.
15th February
Llantwit Fardre extended their lead courtesy of a 6-3 win away to Aber Valley. Cachia (2), Llewellyn (2), Brittain and Alford were on target. De Souza, Wood and Hanmer replied for the hosts.
Cascade defeated Barry Town 5-3 in a game of 2 half's at Islwyn School...writes Andrew....
Not really sure what to say about this game a frantic first half and Barry went in to a 2 nil lead through Baker and Lindsay and were rampant. Somehow we managed to get in to half time at 2-2 with goals by Martin and Norris, but Barry should have been 4-5 goals clear of it wasn’t for our goalkeeper, Andrew Thomas! The second half continued at a frantic pace with the game going end to end but the hosts managed to get clear with Norris getting a second and George and Gorham also scoring. Barry never gave up and scored a late goal through Chick.
Penygraig o40s 2026
In Division 2, Penygraig put Lisvane to the sword with an emphatic 1-8 win at Llanishen School. Cole put the hosts ahead on 2 minutes, but 4 goals by Martin Jones, 3 by Carr and 1 by Rees secured a fine win for Penygraig who can still catch League leaders, Copper FC.
Cogan Coronation secured a hard-fought 3-2 home win over Ely Sports with two late goals at St Cyres School. Payne gave the hosts the lead late in the first half but the visitors went ahead through Jenkins and Southard, but with minutes remaining, Karim and Cayford secured the points for ‘Cora’ and they now sit comfortably in 3rd place.
25th January
In Division 2, Penygraig beat Church Village 6-1 to keep up the pressure on the League leaders, Coopers FC...writes Mark Davies (Penygraig).... “A good competitive game with some decent players on show. Church Village started the stronger team and got their reward with a well worked goal on 5 minutes through Ryan. The visitors created a few more opportunities early in the first half and could have extended their lead, but the hosts kept on playing and grew into the game and got their reward on 34 minutes with a good finish by Martin Jones. Three more good goals before half time through Carr, Charley and Gent made it 4-1 but the score-line didn’t reflect the first half. The second half was much of the same with both teams creating chances, but Penygraig taking more of the opportunities with Carr, again, and Michael making it 6-1.”
18th January
In Division 1, League leaders, Llantwit Fardre extended their lead with a hard-fought 2-1 home win over Barry Town. Lee Jones put Barry ahead in the first half but Brittain and Lee Williams secured the points for the hosts,
Third-placed Porth Quinssecured a fine 2-5 victory away to Cascade...writes Andrew... A great contested game by both teams today fell to a much better team. Their intensity and pressing had us right from the off and wev struggled to cope with it most of the game. Goals by Haggett (3), Rees and Tyler for Porth, Norris scored both goals for Cascade.
In Division 2,Coopers FC maintained a healthy lead in the league with a 7-0 victory away to Church Village with goals by Allen (3), Krol (2) and England.
Penygraig kept up the pressure on the leaders with a 5-1 victory against Pentyrch with goals by Hayward (2), Martin Jones, Carr and Harrison. Meek scored Pentyrch’s consolation.
Ely Sports beat Thornhill 1-4 with goals by Tudor, Southard, Darlington and Williams. Bourton scored for Thornhill.
9th January
In Division 2, League leaders, Coopers FC extended their lead with a 4-1 home victory over Thornhill with goals by Cotterill, Williams, Crock and Vaughan. Jones and Strange replied for the visitors.
4th January
In Division 1, the top of the table clash between Llantwit Fardre and Cardiff Dracs ended 3-4 to the Taff-Ely side. Patten (2) and Ashton scored for the hosts, but Roberts (2), Llewellyn and Kennedy secured the points for the visitors and moved them to within a point of the league leaders.
In Division 2, Penygraig closed in on the league leaders, with a fine 3-1 away win to Ely Sports. Rees, Carr and Gent scored for the visitors with Tudor replying for the hosts.
Cogan Coronation moved level with Penygraig with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Church Village with Roddy and Sadler on target.
7th December
In Division 1, Llantwit Fardre closed in on League leaders, Cardiff Dracs with a convincing 5-0 win over Ynyscynon...writes Lee.... Terrible conditions but both teams tried to play football in a game was played in good spirit. Llantwit took their chances and scored through Llewellyn, Alford, Lee Williams, Lloyd and Chambers.
The game between Barry Town and Porth finshed at 2-2...writes Ed Jones... A fine game at a blustery Bro Morgannwg saw the visitors start with 10 men and go behind to a Baker goal just after kick-off, but they equalised through Lewis and Tyler gave them a deserved lead on the hour. A poachers strike from Ferguson kept Barry honest, and although the visitors deserved to walk away with 3 points, the match finished all-square.
In Division 2, League leaders, Cooper FC, extended their lead at the top with a fine 2-4 win away to Pentyrch...writes Rhys Foran... A good, old-fashioned hard game of football in horrible conditions saw Williams and Misbah put the visitors 2 up. A great comeback saw Pentych get it back to 2-2 through Lewis and John Davies, to give Cooper a real fright, but Johnson and a late second for Williams secured the 3 points.
A crazy game between Cogan and Penygraig ended 6-6! Cogan’s goals came courtesy of a Cayford hat-trick, Cahill (2) and Tomlinson. Carr (2), Rees (2), Jones and Davies replied for the visitors.
Thornhill secured a convincing 4-0 win against Church Village at with goals by Cole (2), Williams and Bourton.
23rd November
In Division 1, Cardiff Dracs stay top of the o40s CENTRAL League with a hard-fought 2-4 away win over Porth...writes Col.... A great game of football in muddy conditions at Trebanog. Porth could have walked away with the points in a game that was a goalkeeping masterclass by both sides. Hartrey (2), Ashton and Mancuso were on target for the visitors, Mason and Hall replied for the hosts.
Title challengers, Llantwit Fardre were convincing 2-7 winners away to Cascade ...writes Rhys Foran... A great competitive encounter with Llewellyn (2), Kenndey (2), Teconi, Jenkins and Minton scoring for Llantwit, and Norris getting a brace for Cascade.
Barry Town won 1-3 away to Ynyscynon with goals by Phillips, Ferguson and Jones. Davies got Ynyscynon’s goal.
In Division 2, League leaders, Cooper FC beat Ely Sports 7-3 at Cardiff University Fields. Crock (3), Cotterill (2), Pengilley and Williams got the goals for the hosts. Richards, Williams and Mansfield replied for Ely.
Cogan secured a 2-0 home win against Pentyrch with goals from Richards and Payne.
9th November
In the o40s CENTRAL League Division 1, Cardiff Dracs consolidated their position at the top of the league with a convincing 5-1 win over Ynyscynon with Gardner (2), Hartrey (2) and Ashton getting the goals. Evans scored a consolation for the visitors.
Cascade moved into second place courtesy of a fine win at Barry Town....writes Ed Jones...."Barry led 2-0 in the second half after goals by Jones and Daniels, but Cascade never gave up and Greenway and George with two late strikes secured a 3-2 victory."
Llantwit Fardre comfortably beat Aber Valley 5-1 with a Llewellyn hat-trick and further goals from Jenkins and Jones. De Souza got a consolation for Aber.
In Division 2, Ely Sports secured a valuable 4-1 win at home to Cogan with goals by Dawkes (2), Tudor and Copley. Lloyd on target for Cogan.
Church Village took the points in a high-scoring match away to Pentyrch...writes Mark Grant... “A good game today in challenging conditions with the game swinging back and fore until Church Village scored two late goals to settle it. Lewis (2), Allen, Parry and Dulieu score for visitors and Williams, Pearce and Bright scored for Pentyrch."
Penygraig moved into second in the League with a fine 5-1 against Thornhill. Michael (2), Pugh (2) and Carr with the goals and Huntington replying for Thornhill.
2nd November
In the o40s CENTRAL League Division 1, Porth Harlequins secured a fine 2-0 home win against Llantwit Fardre with goals by Tyler and Mead and they move joint top with Cardiff Dracs.
27th October
In o40s CENTRAL League Division 1, Cardiff Draconians jumped to the top of the table with a great victory away to Cascade with goals by Hartrey (2), Ashton (2) Booker and Gardner. Norris (2) and Gould scored for the hosts. Andrew writes...Great game and a battle from the first whistle, well fought game but the Dracs had too much for us in the end was close up to 60 minutes but ran away with us in the end.
Ynyscynon moved into second place with an emphatic win at home to Porth through Evans (2), Brett, Davies and Hall. Cowell scored a consolation for the visitors.
In Division 2, Cooper FC stay top and maintain their 100% record with an 11-0 demolition of, previously unbeaten, Cogan with Hooper (3), Crock (2), Cotterill (2), Johnson (2), Bullock and Pengilley on target.Swarzy writes...cheers to Cooper FC for the deserved hammering and 'schooling' in finishing. We had 14 players missing today - but can't complain about the outcome.
Thornhill defeated Pentyrch 4-2 with Baggett, Cole, Davis and Ford on target. Bright and Williams scoring for Rangers. Church Village secured the points at home to Ely through Rees and Lewis.
12th October
In o40s CENTRAL League Division 1, the top two shared the points with a 3-3 draw. Cascade scored through George (2) and Gould with Porth scoring through Haggett, Gwyon and Mason. Cardiff Dracs secured a 5-2 victory over Aber Valley with a hat-trick by Gardner and further goals by Ashton and Sibley. Hammer and Wood on target for Aber. In the game between Barry Town and Llantwit Fardre at Jenner Park, the hosts won 5-0 with goals by Lindsay (2), Ferguson, Hall and Chick.
In Division 2, Cooper FC stay top and maintain their 100% record with an emphatic win 7-1 over Church Village with goals by Cotterill (2), Crock (2), Lloyd, Bryan and Poontaub. Evans got a consolation for the Village. Newcomers, Penygraig secured a fine 2-7 victory away to previously unbeaten, Pentyrch. Their scorers were Gent (2), Roberts, Carr, Taylor, Michael and Pugh, and Gardner and Charles for the hosts. A tight affair at Trelai where Thornhill defeated Ely 0-2 with goals by Cole and Davis.
28th September
Division 1
The o40s CENTRAL League division 1 finally got underway with Porth securing a fine 4-1 away victory over Aber Valley with goals by Williams (2), Gwyon and Leiws. Midgley scored for Aber. Last season’s Shield winners, Llantwit Fardre, beat Cardiff Dracs 3-1 with goals by Lloyd (2) and Llewellyn. Ashton on target for Dracs. Cascade secured an emphatic 6-2 win over Ynyscynon with a George hat-trick and further goals by Norris (2) and Cheverton. Ynyscynon scored through Shortman and Prior.
Division 2
In the second round of matches in the o40s CENTRAL League division 2, Cooper FC moved joint-top with Cogan after a convincing 5-0 victory over Thornhill. Cotterill (2), Johnson, Crock and Allen on target. Cogan also made it 2 from 2 with a narrow 2-1 away win over Church Village. Richards and Blake on target and Solly replying for the hosts. Penygraig won by the same 2-1 margin against Ely Sports with goals by Rasmussen and Gent. Hooper on the scoresheet for Ely.
15th September
Division 2
The o40s CENTRAL League division 2 got underway with an emphatic 10-1 win for Cooper FC against Penygraig. Four from England, plus goals by Williams (2), Crock, Chapman, Poontaub and Bryan secured the points. Roberts got a consolation for the visitors.
Cogan kicked off their campaign with a 4-2 win at home to Thornhill with Richards (2), Payne and Lloyd on the scoresheet. Huntington and Thomas scored for the visitors. In the other match, Pentyrch secured a fine 4-7 win away to Ely Sports with Meunier (2), Charles (2), Higgs, Gardner and Henders on target. Hooper and Darlington scored for Ely.
