Penybont stay top after a convincing 1-7 win against a battling Newport side....Chris Davies writes...The hosts dominated the match and were worthy winners with Ben Griffiths (4), Steve Powell (2) and Chris Davies on target and Newport grabbing a late consolation.
Llanelli Town secured an emphatic 9-0 win over Nelson Cavaliers at Penrhos through Davies (5), McClarnan, Justin Williams, Legg and Neil Williams.
A good 1-2 win for Pontyclun away at Swansea with Conway and Wilson on target and Morgan scoring for the hosts.

Penybont maintained their unbeaten run with an emphatic 4-1 win against Swansea....writes Chris Davies... Good game played in the right spirit as it always is against our old friends from Swansea. Penybont fielded a strong squad and started strongly but struggled to break down a resolute Swansea defence. Ceri Thomas opened the scoring with a back-post bullet header before Swansea capitalised from a defensive error with an emphatic finish by Hughes to level. Two Ben Griffiths headers either side of half time put the game in Penybont favour with a composed finish from Dean Taylor sealing the points.
Title holders, Llanelli Town, were held to a 1-1 draw away to last year’s r/up, The Continental...writes Andrew Kempton... Outstanding game of vets football,, could have gone either way in the end, a draw was a fair result with Evans on target for the Reds and McNamara replying for Conti!
Nelson claimed a 2-0 win over Newport on a heavy Wern pitch..writes Tony Wilding... "Newport started with attacking football but found Nelson resolute in defence. The hosts gradually got on top and created a number of openings and then took a deserved lead though captain, Troy Roberts following a great ball in from Nick Rees. Half time 1-0 to Nelson.
Newport started the second half with a new keeper and shape as they pushed for an equaliser. Nelson’s back line held firm and blocked Newport’s efforts on goal. Newport had a goal disallowed by the ref for a foul. During the last 10 minutes a tired Newport allowed Nelson to take control of the game and scored a lovely goal after a brilliant run with the ball from Lee Bowgen who passed to man of the match Rob Hill who hammered in into the back of the net."

Merthyr made it 2 from 2 with an emphatic Friday night win away at Pontyclun, with Evans, Rees, McNamara and Morris on target.

In the second round of fixtures in the o50s WorkwearSupermarket.com League 2025/26, Title holders, Llanelli Town, were finally hoping to get their season off to a late start but, opponents, Cardiff Accies, were unable to field, so they were awarded a 3-0 win! The Continental continue to set the pace with another emphatic 7-0 win, this time away to Newport. Summers (3), Manley (2), Wigley and Hill on the scoresheet. Penybont also made it 2 from 2 with a 6-0 thumping away to Merthyr Tydfil.... writes Chris Davies....two depleted squads faced each other with Penybont coming out on top. Penybont’s first goal was the pick of the bunch with Steve Powell netting from 50 yards after slotting the keeper off his line. Further goals from Ceri Thomas Andy Davies and a Powell penalty saw the first half end 0-4. Ben Griffiths and Andy Davies added goals in the 2nd half which they controlled against a committed Merthyr who competed to the last despite having limited numbers.
In the match between Swansea and Nelson was a thrilling 3-3 draw...writes Millsy....In a contest full of twists and momentum swings. The visitors struck first taking the lead however, Swansea refused to let the game slip away, hitting back each time Nelson edged in front. Nelson looked to have the upper hand but, Swansea’s determination shone through and found an equaliser late on to ensure the points were shared. In the end, Nelson may feel they let a win slip after leading on three occasions while, Swansea will take pride in their resilience to fight back and secure a point.
14th September
The o50s WorkwearSupermarket.com League 2025/26 finally got underway with last season’s runners-up, The Continental, sending out a strong message with an emphatic 9-1 win over Swansea at Eastern High School. Summers bagged 4, with Manley (2), McNamara, Richard and Wigley also on target.
Merthyr Tydfil took the 3 points against Nelson...writes Ricky John... A competitive match played in terrible conditions, but a lovely tribute to Rod Powell and Dennis Murphy beforehand, two football stalwarts......
Merthyr started the better of the two sides and missed a few chances before Lynch put them ahead on the half-hour. Nelson grew into the match and scored a deserved equaliser through Roberts. In the 2nd half Merthyr pegged back Nelson and extended their lead with goals from Cope and a Ricky John brace. Nelson pulled back a late goal through Alex Harford.
Penybont beat Pontyclun 3-1 at Pencoed College with Wells, John and Powell on the scoresheet. Jenkins replied for Pontyclun. Newport defeated the Accies 3-1 through a Flanagan hat-trick. Bell replied for Accies.
