In Round 2 of the o40s Cup competition...
In the big clash of the day, Div 1 West champions, Llanelli Town hosted Div 1 Central champions and current Shield holders, Llantwit Fardre at Penrhos. Although Llewellyn put the visitors ahead, a Brown hat-trick and two further goals by Bartley saw the hosts advance to the next round. Williams scored a late goal for Llantwit.
Bridgend Street (Photo above © of carlrobertson.cardiffmetpics) edged past Rockspur 1-0...writes Jason... In a very tight game at Willows High School, Rockspur were the stronger team in the first half hour and had a great chance to take the lead in the first five minutes but for a superb save from Damien Lack.
Bridgend Street then created a host of chances second half but Gregory Evans pulled off a string of fine saves in the Rockspur net and with the game inching towards penalties Beddard grabbed the winner with a well taken finish in the 88th minute.
Cooper FC beat Barry Town 1-4 with goals by Crock (2), Lewis and Allen. Jones scored a consolation for the hosts.
Canton put Ely Sports to the sword 6-0, with goals by Mountstephen (2), G. Davies, Bridgeman, Naswari and Camilleri.
Rogerstone went through 4-2 on pens against Ponthir after their game finished at 2-2. Mcintosh and Heath scored for Rogerstone and Thompson and Sommers scored for Ponthir.
Penygraig defeated Tiger Bay 0-4 at Cardiff’s Canal Park with a Martin Jones hat-trick and a further goal from Michael.

A hard-fought win for Penygraig at Penrhos with goals by Jones (2) and Phillips. Williams and Davey scored for the Reds.
Llantwit Fardre 6, Cardiff Dracs 1.
Llantwit recorded an emphatic 6-1 win against Cardiff Dracs with Cachia hat-trick, a Llewellyn brace and a goal by Hughes. Hartrey scored a consolation for the Dracs.
Newport Corries 3, Briton Ferry Llansawel 3
Ferry win 4-3 on penalties)......writes Ken...
An end to end game of football in horrible conditions - wind howling and a pitch bumpier than most of the roads around Wales! But both teams dug in and neither team would give up and the game which finished all-square at 3-3 with a Gowen hat-trick for ‘Ferry’ and Lilygreen, Watson and Palmer taking the game to penalties.
Swansea 0, Porth Harlequins 3. Big win for the Quins who scored through Hares (2) and Haggett.
Tata Steel 0, Llanelli 6. Llanelli march on with a big win over Tata and goals from Brown (3), Bartley (2) and Blackford.

Mark Grant writes....A close first half with Pentyrch taking a surprise lead against the run of play. Ponthir quickly equalised and then scored a second before the break. Second half they showed their class winning 1-6 in the end.
