£800 raised for Velindre in Charity Match!

Pentyrch hosted Cardiff Academicals in a Veterans football game for the Velindre Charity....writes Danny Saffer....

Pentyrch emerged as 3-1 winners after a competitive game at Parc y Dwrlyn Fields and Mike Roberts, whose 17 year old son has himself been a recent patient at Velindre, accepted the Velindre Charity Challenge Trophy on behalf of Pentyrch.

The real focus of the day however, was to raise funds for a worthwhile cause...and contributions from players and a raffle raised a massive £660! On behalf of all members of the Wales Veterans Football Association, which includes both clubs, the Committee has agreed to make up the donation to £800!

Organiser, Danny Saffer, was thrilled and offered “a massive thanks to everyone who took part in this worthwhile event.”
