Barry Town move top!!

19th October
In the o45s Workwear Supermarket.com League, Llanelli Town secured a 1-6 victory away to Pentrych ...writes Mark Grant... “An excellent game of football today played in good spirit throughout with Llanelli working hard for a deserved win against a battling Pentyrch side. Couple of great goals from Williams along with Matthews, Blandon, Thomas and Bartley. Gerry McNamara replied with a great strike.”

Barry Town move top of the o45s Workwear Supermarket.com League after a cracking game against Upper Rhondda at Jenner Park...writes Stu JD.... “With both teams playing some nice football, Rhondda took an early lead through Lewis. Barry got on top and took a deserved 2 1 lead going into half time with goals by Ferguson and Davey.
Rhondda drew level with an Oram penalty, before Barry scored a well worked goal through Yarr, to win the game 3 2 and maintain their 100% record.”

Ferndale took the points after a real goal-fest against Rockspur at Penyrheol Leisure centre...writes Rob Connochie... “The scoreline explains it all, one hell of a game, with Ferndale going 3 up and the hosts pegging it back to 3-3 before ‘Geesy’ chipped the keeper to make it 3-4 to Ferndale at half time. The second half was pretty much the same as the first, goals everywhere with Ferndale making their Veterans League experience count and deservedly taking the points in the end. Rockspurs scorers: Martin (2), Moran (2) and Preece. Jones (3), Powell, Rees, Emmanuel and Griffiths on target for the visitors.”

The game between Briton Ferry Llansawel and Penydarren ended 1-1 with Geraint Davies putting the visitors ahead in the 75th minute, but Jermin equalising with minutes remaining.

10th October
Llanelli Town 4, Penydarren 0
In the o45s Workwear Supermarket.com League, Llanelli won a very hard-fought game of football on Friday night...writes Kev Bartley.... Llanelli had to work extremely hard to break down a very well organised Penydarren side taking a 3-0 half time lead with a hatrick from Neil "Willy" Williams. A further goal from Kev Bartley gave Llanelli a 4-0 victory. The scoreline maybe did not reflect the quality of both sides with big performances from many in black and white especially Matthew Doherty, and Carwyn Watkins who were outstanding for Penydarren.

5th October
In today’s matches in the o45s Workwear Supermarket.com League, Pentyrch Rangers secured a 8-0 home win against newcomers, PILCS of Pontypool, with goals by Clowes (3), Perryman (2), Pearce, Francis and Hurley. In the other game played, Upper Rhondda moved into second spot with an excellent 0-4 away win at Rockspur, with Lewis (2), Taylor and Barnes on target.

24th September
The mid-week match in the o45s Workwear Supermarket.com League, between Penybont and Briton Ferry Llansawel ended scoreless.

21st September
In the second round of matches in the o45s Workwear Supermarket.com League, Briton Ferry Llansawel (Warren and Wheel) edged a 2-1 win against Rockspur (Burton). Newcomers, PILCS were given a bit of a lesson, losing 3-9 to Ferndale who scored through a Rees hat-trick along with Davies, Powell, Gent, Jones and Burge. The hosts replied through Houston (2) and Heaven. Penybont recorded a handsome 5-1 victory over Pentyrch with goals from Lee (2), Williams, Taylor and Howard. Gardner got a consolation for Pentyrch. Barry Town defeated Penydarren by an emphatic 0-4 with goals from Searle, Yarr, Jones and Wells.

10th September
Llanelli 9, Rockspur 2
A big win for last season's o45s Workwear Supermarket.com League champions...writes Kev Bartley....Rockspur started well and were unlucky not to take the lead with a shot coming back off the bar. Shortly after, Lee Trundle gave Llanelli the lead which was added to by a fantastic strike by Jamie Harries. Further goals from Trundle and Kev Bartley gave Llanelli a 4-0 half time lead. Simon Johnston pulled back a deserved goal for Rockspur, before Bartley (2), Trundle, Blandon and Willy scored further goals. Rockspur's other goal came from a header by David Burton. A great end-to-end game, and Rockspur are only going to get stronger as the season goes on.

31st August
The o45s Workwear Supermarket.com League got underway with matches between Ferndale & District and Briton Ferry Llansawel, PILCS Pontypool and Upper Rhondda, Penydarren and Penybont and Pentrych Rangers against League runners-up, Barry Town. League winners, Llanelli Town were involved in the North Wales v South Wales play-off match in Newtown.

Ferndale & District 5, Briton Ferry Llansawel 2
A convincing win for the hosts at Darran Park with goals from Gareth Jones (2), Powell (2) and Mathias. Thomas and Patel scored for the visitors.

Pentrych Rangers 0, Barry Town 3
A good start for the visitors who scored through Aldridge (2) and Dodds.

Penydarren 9, Penybont 0
An emphatic win for the hosts at The Bont with goals from Doherty (2), Watkins (2), Lane (2), Davies, Williams and Price.

PILCS Pontypool 2, Upper Rhondda 6
A big away win for Upper Rhondda who scored through Lewis, (2), White, Oram, Jones and Taylor. Reid and Heaven were on target for newcomers, PILCS.
