Llanelli Town 2, Barry Town 2 (Llanelli win 15 - 14 on pens!)
A crazy game down at Penrhos School with the hosts taking the tie 13, 12 on penalties...writes a pitch-side reporter... a competitive game of the highest quality between two excellent veteran football teams saw Barry take a 2 goal lead into half time through Vick and Cotterill. The hosts made a couple of tactical changes after the break and although they dominated possession, the visitors were still carrying a threat on the break! Barry defended superbly until they received a Red card and suffered several injuries to key players and with under 10 minutes left of the game, Llanelli’s pressure finally told with the ball being bundled home by Wayne Williams and with 5 minutes left a Barry own goal made the score all-square. The hosts had a golden opportunity to win the game at the death Barry Town, but a superb, last ditch block by Lee Stone took the game to penalties.
