Congratulations to Barry Town who lifted the o45s WorkwearSupermarket.com Trophy after a clinical performance at the Cardiff University Campus in Llanrumney.

Barry leapt out of the blocks and put their opponents under immediate pressure, with Maher and Ferguson brothers, Rich and Ant, bossing the midfield and Aldridge proving a real handful up-front, and it was he, who set up strike partner, Hosgood, for a sharp early goal. Briton Ferry pressed for parity, but the Barry defensive line, marshalled by man-of-the-match, Riches, kept the dangerous Steve Davies quiet and keeper, Morgan, was rarely troubled. On 30 minutes, Searle was scythed down in the box and Ant Ferguson made no mistake from the spot to give his team 2nil lead going into the break.

In the second half Barry retained the ball well, frustrating their hard-working opponents, who knew they had a mountain to climb, particularly in the sweltering heat. On the hour, the game was pretty much over as a contest, when Tranter, beat the offside trap to slot calmly under advancing keeper, Price. 10 minutes later, Hosgood capitalised on a defensive mix-up to send a delightful lob over the Ferry keeper and Barry went on to secure a fine win. Captain, Davey, collected the o45s WorkwearSupermarket.com Trophy from WVFA Chairman, Alun Huish.
